Several Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Dael Fry – reports

Boro centre back Dael Fry is the subject of interest from several Premier League sides, according to recent reports.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a fruitful run in the Boro team this season, playing 11 games in all competitions under new manager Garry Monk.

He was replaced by Ryan Shotton in Saturday’s draw against Brentford, but has shown he is more than capable of making the step up in the Championship.

TEAMtalk credit Chelsea and Manchester United as two sides keeping tabs on the defender, whilst the Daily Mail say Everton and Leicester are also interested.

It’s not the first time that Middlesbrough-born Fry has been at the centre of interest from Premier League giants Manchester United. The Red Devils reportedly sent scouts to watch the defender after his impressive Football League debut against Preston back in 2015.

Should Fry regain his place in Boro’s starting line-up, there’s no doubt his stock will continue to rise. But for now, the primary focus will be on his international exploits with England U21s.

Aidy Boothroyd’s side face Scotland U21s at the Riverside, and Fry will be looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow academy product Ben Gibson in lining up for his country on home soil.
