Back in 2015 when then-Brentford defender Harlee Dean coined the term ‘boring Boro’, he somewhat foreshadowed what was the come under future manager Tony Pulis.
But boring no more.
Last weekend’s draw to Luton had the rip-roaring energy that Middlesbrough fans have been craving for seasons.
Six goals, a penalty miss, a ‘hand of God’ remake, two stunning strikes and a new style of play implemented straight from the off.
It was something that had the Boro Breakdown team drooling as they sat down for their second live podcast.
Discussed were the performances of debutant Hayden Coulson as well as forgotten figure Marvin Johnson, who both impressed Jonny, Elliott and Dana.
Attentions also turned to transfers – with the deadline looming there were question marks over certain members of the squad. Could Boro see a midfielder leave before 5pm?
And as always, there was a look ahead to Saturday’s intriguing match up against Brentford – two teams playing forward thinking, attacking football.
Is it too much to expect a goal fest at the Riverside?
