Loan Watch – Kike vs Braithwaite, Miller linked with move away

Martin Braithwaite found himself up against a Boro fan favourite in this week’s loan watch.

His Leganes side hosted Kike Garcia’s Eibar in La Liga – a game in which produced goal involvements for both.

The Dane set up Leganes’ first goal of the evening, scored by his strike partner Youssef En-Nesyri. That was after Kike opened the scoring and Joan Jordan doubled the visitors lead.

En-Nesyri scored the equaliser with 20 minutes to go to earn Los Pepineros a point.

Braithwaite was rated 6.9 on WhoScored. He had one shot, two successful dribbles and a 63% passing accuracy,

George Miller started on the bench for Bradford, but was subbed on in the 89th minute as the Bantams earned a point in the 1-1 draw.

The 20-year-old has been linking with a move away from the Riverside this week, with several potential suitors.

TEAMtalk claim Championship strugglers Wigan are keen on Miller, whilst League One sides Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers, Luton Town and Peterborough United are also in the hunt.

Current loan club Bradford would also welcome a permanent deal  should it become viable.

The report states that Boro look set to recall the former Bury striker, who joined the club in the summer transfer window in 2017, after a number of clubs expressed their interest.

They are ready to let Miller move on if a permanent deal can be agreed.

So far this season, Miller has scored six goals in 32 appearances, registering seven goal along the way.

Aynsley Pears started in goal for Gateshead who drew one-all at home to Boreham Wood to aid their promotion push.

Luke Armstrong was cup-tied having already featured in the FA Cup this season, and therefore was unable to feature in Accrington Stanley’s televised defeat to Derby.

Marvin Johnson was an unused sub for Sheffield United, who drew 2-2 against high flying Norwich.
